Born 1963 in Göttingen.

Studied music science, art history and history at the universities in Cologne and Bonn as well as contrabass studies at the Musikhochschule in Cologne. Ph.D. from the University of Bonn.

Extensive work over the years as an editor and publisher for the music publishing house Breitkopf & Härtel.

He has held teaching positions at the Musikakademie Wiesbaden, at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt, at the University of Heidelberg and at the Musikhochschule Dresden. Lecturer at the Cusanus Foundation and the Music Academy Rheinsberg.

Numerous lectures at symposia and conferences throughout Europe, including in Bamberg, Berlin, Bregenz, Brünn, Dresden, Duisburg, Freiburg, Graz, Leipzig, Mittersill, Moscow, Prague, Rheinsberg, Rostock, Salzburg and Vienna.

Curator of an exhibition on the composer Erwin Schulhoff at the Heinrich-Heine-Institut Düsseldorf.

Lecturer and docent for composer seminars at the Darmstadt International Summer Courses for New Music in 2002 und 2004. He is currently scientific associate for music in the 20th century at the Musikhochschule „Carl Maria von Weber“ in Dresden.

Numerous publications in print and for the radio on music of the 20th and 21st century.
