Born in Bucharest/Romania and lives in Germany since 1976.

Studied composition and piano at the Music Conservatory (Musikhochschule) in Bucharest with Stefan Niculescu and with Milko Kelemen at the Music Conservatory (Musikhochschule) in Stuttgart.

1977-80 concert activities as a pianist with the Lipatti-Trio. Since 1980 professorship at the Music Conservatory (Musikhochschule) in Stuttgart.

1997-2000 professorship of composition at the Music Conser-vatory (Musikhochschule) in Rostock and since 2000 at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.

Selected works include: “…es kamen schwarze Vögel” (for voice, 1978), “Bremer Freiheit” (music theater, 1988), “Arena” (for orchestra, 1995), “Giuseppe e Sylvia” (Stuttgart, theatrical play after Hans Neuenfels, 2001). Numerous CD recordings of her works. Numerous distinc-tions and prizes, a including: winner of the Valentino Bucchi Composition Competition (Rome, 1979) and of the International Composition Competition of the GEDOK Mannheim (1989).
