Born 1981 in Frankfurt am Main/Germany.

Laura Straßer studied product design (2002–2008) at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Weimar/Germany, (diploma 2008). In 2006, she founded the design label frenchknicker together with her colleague Milia Seyppel.

In 2009, she received a fellowship of the International Ceramic Research Center Guldagergaard and in 2010 she received the Dr. Barbara Walker Visiting Artist fellowship of the Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN/USA. Since 2010, she has been  working as design assistant (in the fields of product design, design management) at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Laura Straßer participated in numerous group exhibitions, among others: Design with a Smile, Design museum, Gent/Belgium (2008); Design Deutschland 2010, organized and curated by Rat für Formgebung (2010); From a King’s Dream to Mass Production. 300 Years of European Porcelain, Porzellanikon, Selb/Germany (2010); I.D. Annual Design Review Exhibition, New York City, NY/USA (2010); 2010 Saint Étienne International Design Biennal, Saint Étienne/France (2010).  
Her solo exhbitions include: Geliebte Masse – Porzellangeschichten (Beloved Mass – Porcelain Stories), GoetheStadtMuseum, Ilmenau/Germany (2009).
