Born in Warsaw/Poland in 1961.

Zuzanna Janin graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw/Poland in 1987. She received her PhD from the University of the Arts in Poznan/Poland and the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk/Poland.

She has been a lecturer in the postgraduate study of Contemporary Art at the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Warsaw since 2019. Janin has held the post of guest professor or guest artist at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow/Poland, the ASAB Academia del Arte Bogotá/Colombia, the Sapir College of Art in Sderot/Israel, Haifa University/Israel, the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava/Slovakia, Bezalel Jerusalem/Israel, the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw, the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and King’s College London/UK, and has participated in numerous conferences, meetings, talks, workshops, lectures, seminars and panels at many other art institution and organisations.

Zuzanna Janin has been involved in events including the Sydney Biennial 1992, the Istanbul Biennial 1992, Soonsbeek ’93 and many more. She has had solo shows, screenings and performances at the Salzburger Kunstverein/Austria, the Kunsthalle Wien/Austria and Mam Rio de Janeiro/Argentina, among others. Her work has featured in shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago/US, Tate Modern London, the Japanisches Palais Dresden/Germany and many more.
