SOLITUDE DAY

This year, the Akademie Schloss Solitude, together with all institutions around the castle, invites you to the Solitude-Tag (Solitude Day). This year, the Akademie Schloss Solitude, together with all institutions around the castle, invites you to the Solitude-Tag (Solitude Day). On Sunday, July 8 2012, visitors expect guided tours through the castle, the Akademie, the Graevenitz Museum, and the Schlosskapelle (castle chapel) as well as readings, concerts, and much more …

All visitors are welcome to take part in Stuttgart’s most beautiful picnic event by bringing a picnic basket, a blanket and some food. The most original arrangement wins a weekend at Solitude! (the jury’s round tour starts at 1.30 pm)

Good weather atmosphere will be arranged.

PROGRAM AKADEMIE SCHLOSS SOLITUDE

From 11 am: Guided tours through the current exhibitions, artist studios, and the common rooms of the Akademie
With Jean-Baptiste Joly (11 am)
With Cristiane Schuessler (2 pm and 4 pm)
With Stephan Pohl (12 pm and 3 pm)

12 am, 2 pm, and 4 pm: Circus Production
The aerial acrobat Carmen Raffaele Küster and the juggler Matthias Buhrow present parts of their new circus production »spurlos« (traceless).

From 2.30 pm: Readings in the Scheune (Barn)
2.30 pm: Susanne Heinrich reads from »Amerikanische Gefühle« (American Feelings).
3.30 pm: Gérard Haller reads »L’ange Nu« (The Naked Angel),
4.30 pm: Anne-Kathrin Heier reads from the unpublished novel »Die Rampe« (The Ramp) accompanied by Demian Bern, the cover designer of the book.
5.30 pm: Doug Rice reads from »Dream Memoirs of a Fabulist«

3 pm: Performance »Untitled IV (atemlos)« (breathless), 2011/2012

With the Quartet New Generation.
Followed by an ARTIST TALK.

6.30 pm: Solitude Concert in the Castle
Julian Fahrner (violin) and Natalia Movchan (piano) play works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Raffaele Grimaldi, and César Franck.
In cooperation with the Rudolf-Eberle-Foundation.
Entrance: 15 euros, discount: 10 euros

The entrance for all other events of the Akademie is free! The book store Herman’s Library as well as some artist studios will be opened for the visitors.

ADVICE: Due to safety reasons, barbecuing is not allowed on the meadow in front of Schloss Solitude.
