Studied art and film history at the Sorbonne in Paris and “Independent Study Program” of the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.

1989-93 curator of the IVAM-Instituto Va-lenciano de Arte Moderno, Centre Julio Gonzalez, Valencia. 1992-93 artistic director of the 2nd Tyne International Newcastle-upon-Tyne/Arts Council of Great Britain. 1993-95 artistic director of the Carta Blanca in Madrid. 1996-99 director of the Marseille museums.
