Born in Kharkiv/Ukraine in 1982.

Liera Polianskova is a new media artist. She obtained a degree in theater studies from the Kharkiv I. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts (2000–2005) while performing as a part of the studio theater ensemble Arabesque.

In 2008, she joined forces with engineer Max Robotov to found the SVITER art group. What began as a purely musical project later expanded into performances, art installations and new media art. In 2013, members of the SVITER art group and artist Ivan Svitlychnyi established the Shukhliada exposition environment, a platform for independent curatorial and art projects. In 2018, they founded the PHOTINUS Studio, new media art formation, studio & school to promote the development of new media art in Kyiv/Ukraine via a workshop series. Polianskova’s work appeared in the Ukrainian pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale (2017, Venice/Italy), at Vorspiel 2018, a festival of transmediale Berlin/Germany, and at Digital Cultures Festival (2019, Warsaw/Poland) within the context of her affiliation with the SVITER art group.

In 2018, Liera completed a residency program at WRO Art Center in Wroclaw/Poland as a part of the Gaude Polonia scholarship.

Polianskova has been living and working in Kyiv since 2014.
