Born 1971 in Kyoto/Japan.

Malika Kishino studied law in Kyoto (diploma 1994). From 1995-1998 she studied composition with Yoshihisa Taira at the L´Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris (Diplôma supérieur) and from 1999-2003 with Robert Pascale at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse (CNSMD) in Lyon (Diplôme National d´Études Supérieures Musicales). In 2004-2005 she participated in the Composition and Computer Music program at the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM) in Paris.

Current projects include a commission from Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg for orchestra, pieces for the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (ZKM) in Karlsruhe and the Experimentalstudio für akustische Kunst in Freiburg, as well as a commission from the Landesmusikrat Nordrhein-Westfalen for ensemble.

In 2006 Malika Kishino received the first prize of the Concours de Groupe de Recherche Appliquée en Musique Électroacoustique (GRAME) and the Ènsemble Orchestral Contemporaine (EOC), Lyon. In 2001 she was awarded a prize at the Japan Music Competition. Malika Kishino was granted a fellowship from the Experimentalstudio für akustische Kunst in Freiburg and the Institute for Music and Acoustics at the ZKM in Karlsruhe.

Her pieces have been performed at numerous international festivals in Europe and Japan, among others at »La Semaine de la Composition de l`Orchestre National« in Lyon, at the »Takefu International New Music Festival« in Japan, at »Music en Scene« in Lyon, at the »Festival d´Alicante« and »Musica« in Strasbourg.
