Born 1982 in Weingarten/Germany.

After finishing her studies in visual arts at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, Germany, Simone Rueß spent four years in Warsaw/Poland, supported by the DAAD and the Landesgraduiertenförderung des Ministeriums für Forschung, Wissenschaft und Kunst Baden-Württemberg. She then lived in Paris/France and Berlin/Germany.

She shows her explorations of space in solo exhibitions like Memory Space, Galeria Le Guern, Warsaw (2016), Fremde Blicke, Ravensburg, Kunstmuseum Ravensburg, Germany (2015), appartement, gallery interface, Dijon/France (2013), as well as in various group exhibitions. In 2012/2013 Simone Rueß was asked to create an artistic analysis of the Millenium Park and city grounds in Zielona Góra/Poland as part of a regeneration project. In 2013 she designed a sculptural seating area for the temporary summer pavilion in the area Powisle in Warsaw, commissioned by Bęc Zmiana Foundation, Warsaw.

Simone Rueß was granted various fellowships, amongst them the Arbeitsstipendium of Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn, Germany, in 2012 and a six-month fellowship of Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris in 2013. In 2015 she was awarded with the Förderpreis des Künstlerbunds Baden-Württemberg.
