Summer Festival 2019

Akademie Schloss Solitude is cordially inviting everybody to the annual Summer Festival which we would like to celebrate with you around the old timbered barn this year. 

Current fellows from Egypt, Germany, Great Britain, Croatia, Myanmar, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Austria, the Phillipines, and Romania are participating in the program with readings, performances and (sound) installations. Many of them open their studios to give you an insight into their artistic work. 

With the motto of the evening »Neighborhoods & Communities« we would like to warmly invite our neighbors and friends from near and far to visit us, to start a conversation, initiate projects and shape the (neighborly) future together!

From 5 pm to 10 pm, you can visit open studios with exhibitions and installations at Akademie’s House 2. There will be further participatory presentations, a picnic, and a sound installation to be discovered under the arcades of the castle, on the lawns in front of the castle, as well as around the castle. From 5.30 pm to 10 pm, we cordially invite you to join us for a diverse program with readings, performances and a workshop.

At 6 pm Dr. Claudia Rose, head of the arts department of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Wuerttemberg, and director of the Akademie, Elke aus dem Moore, are going to give you a warm welcome. 

Mobile local caterers will provide you with food and drinks.
